Excerpt…

- I dusted myself off as she looked out the window, which were covered with thin streaks of water that looked like cracks in the window, though with the movement of our taxi they simply wiped away with the wind.  She turned back towards me, wiped her eyebrows, and signaled for me to come in closer.  It was murky inside the cab and you couldn’t see her dark hair that matched it, but I pulled at it when I placed my hand behind her head to kiss her.  She liked that slight tug.  I remember.

*I don’t usually share my work online, but maybe perhaps I should do so.  For all the students and teachers that have read my writing it feels weird to actually have my friends read it.  I’m doing some revisions for my portfolio to turn in tomorrow and I came across this part of my 4th and most recent short story called Ellipsis.  Enjoy!

Oh what am I saying.  No one reads on Tumblr anymore.

It’s absolutely amazing how much dance can reach out to others.  Every dance speaks differently to each individual and that’s what makes art so beautiful.  Throwing your heart out on stage, in the studio, in front of the mirror, at practice, at rehearsal… in the cypher… anywhere your art takes you is so admirable.

This is probably one the most meaningful, powerful, emotional pieces I’ve seen… Well done Parris… Well done indeed.
